Transit Allocation Modeling and Alternatives Analysis
With constrained funding and an increasing cost equation, King County Metro has struggled to determine how best to meet the region’s transit needs. This study explored various policy frameworks and models for allocating new transit services in the County.
Our analysis identified potential methods for linking desired policy outcomes with transit investment choices, and proposed a set of specific transit investment policies. We also developed measures to gauge individual route performance and prioritize service investments; assign new service investments to improve route frequency; and evaluated the resulting investment from a subarea planning perspective.
