KEXP Radio Station

Redevelopment of Seattle Center South Fun Forest Area

BERK helped KEXP, an independent non-profit station, develop a proposal to locate at Seattle Center. The plan would allow KEXP to expand operations and interactive programming. BERK estimated financial returns and public benefits of the proposal, including estimated spending by visitors, valuation of free on-air advertising of the Center, city tax revenues, and public benefits from free KEXP events.

Based on the strength of KEXP’s proposal and broad public support, Seattle Center selected KEXP, along with a new Dale Chihuly glass museum, for the campus. The new KEXP station will be located on the west side of the Center and will have interactive design elements, performance venues, and open space.
