Aviation Economic Impact Study

BERK conducted an assessment of the economic contribution of Washington State’s Aviation System to inform key policy debates at the state and local level regarding support for Washington’s aviation system. The comprehensive study assessed the economic contribution of each of the state’s 135 public-use airports; the many ways communities, businesses, and individual users derive value from aviation services; and the extent to which specific core state industries are dependent on the aviation system to maintain a competitive position in their respective markets.

In addition to a final report, the project resulted in profiles for each public-use airport in Washington and an online calculator tool that allows the public to estimate economic impacts of different “what-if” scenarios at airports.
