BERK's Public Safety Practice

BERK has a significant body of work on public safety provision at the local level, including cost-of-service and governance alternative studies for cities and counties throughout the state, facilities planning, and strategic plans.

BERK has been engaged with a number of police services studies, including most recently for the cities of Kirkland, Sammamish, and SeaTac. We are working with both Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority and South County Fire on operational and strategic issues, and we are supporting a fire impact fee update for the City of Anacortes. We have developed strategic plans for a number of police and fire agencies, including Bellevue Fire, Lake Stevens Fire Department, North Mason Regional Fire Authority, and the Tukwila Police Department.
