Webinar Recording: How to Prepare a Housing Needs Assessment

BERK was hired by Washington State Department of Commerce to create guidance materials and interactive data tools for preparing a housing needs assessment. To spread the word about this new resource, MRSC hosted a webinar featuring Kevin Ramsey, Ph.D., Associate Principal at BERK.

In 2019, the Washington State Legislature passed HB 1923, a bill allocating grant funding for cities to increase residential capacity through actions like developing a housing action plan. A key component of a housing action plan is the housing needs assessment. BERK is currently working with Department of Commerce to write additional guidance materials for developing a housing action plan. We are also working with several communities to develop their own housing action plans.
