Tacoma Comprehensive Plan Update

We led a multidisciplinary consultant team in updating the City of Tacoma’s Comprehensive Plan. To ensure we understood the community’s vision for the next 20 years, we produced an interactive set of workshops, developed and regularly updated a project website, hosted information sessions, and held public hearings. At the City’s request, we completely restructured the plan and made it more reader-friendly by simplifying and streamlining content and adding new infographics and maps. This included developing a new Future Land Use Map and compiling and generating GIS data. We were the lead author of the plan and provided oversight to ensure all sections reflected the community vision, incorporated the best available information, and were consistent with current state law and regional policy guidance. The project was completed within a tight schedule on budget. While at 3 Square Blocks, Marcia Wagoner and Deborah Munkberg led this effort with support from Jessie Hartmann.
